The dance we did on that first night, and since has shown me that we just might,

Have found something that is as rare as gold, and I think it's caused me to be overtly bold,

It caused me to say and do some things, I could'nt help it, my heart had wings,

I'd like to talk and get to know, the girl, the woman and maybe show,

We can go fishing, stir fry the wok, make love anytime and thru it all just talk,

Talk about anything and everything we share, to each other our souls would soon be bare,

Something so rare we have never seen, a friendship, a future that has never been,

But here I sit waiting for you, to call or write and say you'd like to try too,

Then you suddenly said of me you want no part, that has done it, it's broken my heart,

I think that you are scared as hell, so am I Dear, I am very scared as well,

I just wish we had met at another time and space, before your trust and love was abused, for that there is no place,

But apart we sit having glimpsed something so great, the possibility that together we could make,

A friendship a partnership a love we will never know, until you decide to see how it might go,

I also wish I could take away the hurt and fear, but instead I sit unable to dry the tear,

That comes from within me at the thought of you, unable to try to make your dreams come true!
